Although glass designers and architects have no shortage of decorative glass to choose from, one of the most frequently seen types is bent glass. This is because there may be no better way to make a grand impression in a building’s design, than with elegantly swooping surfaces composed of glass. It manages to look both modern and timeless at the same time, and is a great way to let in light into a building. For these reasons, this is often the type of glass design chosen for large exhibition centers, museums, and other public works, as well as airports. However, the purpose can be secondary to the design, which is where you will begin your process.
The job can be more complicated when you are choosing magnetic glass or colored glass, but with an expert eye for detail, a professional fabrication service can help you choose the best bent glass design for your needs and even tweak this if the specifications change. From conception to production, you want to work with a company that is able to showcase your designs in the safest, strongest and most durable way possible.
Some types of bent glass that you might want to consider when you are choosing the initial design include those that are bullet-proof, glazed, shaded, or colored. No matter what your specific needs are for your next architectural project, chances are that you can manipulate the glass to fit these needs. However, it’s vital to choose the professional services of a company that knows what they are doing, and has the background and experience to match their claims. Because the fabrication and installation of bent or curved glass can take more time and skill, for safety reasons this is extremely important.
One of the leaders in the bent glass and decorative glass industry is Glaspro. With over thirty years in business, combined with a state of the art facility equipped to handle any job, no matter how complex it might be, they are able to suit a wide variety of architectural glass design needs. Their staff is renowned for their customer service skills and attention to detail, and seems to relish a fine challenge. It’s a good idea to go to www.glas-pro.com to learn more about the process behind producing these glass works of art, and see some examples of prior work that showcases just what you can do with the power of bent glass.
Can a customer use organics or textiles in a shower door?
What about the moisture? Can we seal the edges?
The best way to ensure many years without any problems in your laminated shower door is to order a “TPU interlayer upgrade” and order “EDGE DELETION”
What is TPU? This is a “hydrophobic” (almost waterproof) interlayer that encapsulates the material (like SeaGrass) and basically seals up the edge of the glass as well. Contact estimating for TPU upgrade costs.
What is edge deletion? We cut back the material (like seagrass) 1/8” of an inch from the edge of the panel so that water cannot come into contact with it and “wick” up into the material. There is no cost for edge deletion when it is ordered for a shower or other wet environment.
One thing to consider…Edge Deletion works great for organics but not so well for full coverage inserts like textiles. You can imagine that on full coverage inserts this “edge deletion” would not be aesthetically pleasing.
3rd party edge sealers are not a good choice in a shower door because the ONLY sealer that is approved for glass is BLACK in color and it is not aesthetically pleasing to look at. The BLACK edge sealer should only be used when the edges of the glass are hidden in a frame.
IF YOU ORDER A SHOWER DOOR WITH THESE
TWO UPGRADES THEN IT CARRIES A FULL WARRANTY

One of the first things that architects and interior designers learn about is the power of light, and how to control or diffuse it to create a desired effect.
In California, where sunshine is such an integral part of the living experience, it makes sense to use this power of lighting whenever possible. With the use of translucent glass or translucent panels, designers can manage to diffuse or screen natural lighting whenever necessary. There are numerous benefits to using this material over other types of decorative glass, when light manipulation is your objective in particular. This can be applied to residential or commercial buildings, depending on what your ultimate design goals are.
Translucent panels are easy to maintain, and are far more cost effective then other types of glass, or resin panels. They provide easy solutions to the various challenges faced by architects or interior designers. With residential buildings in particular, one issue that often comes into play is how to use the lighting to meet privacy requirements. With translucent glass, they can then diffuse the light so that it doesn’t bother neighbors, meets all building standards, and still manages to be aesthetically appealing.
Before you get started with choosing to use translucent panels, it’s a good idea to first find a facility that is able to manufacture them in the full range of sizes, finishes, or different translucencies out on the market today. There is no reason why you shouldn’t have a full range of options when you are crafting your initial design. With a well equipped facility staffed with technicians who are experienced specifically in this type of design, you will have a better chance of meeting any challenges that arise, and can make your vision come true using the natural light of the region.
As a top manufacturer on the market, Glaspro has a well deserved reputation as a producer of these translucent panels. Their facilities are up to date with all of the latest modern technological innovations, so that they are able to meet any glass design need. For large shopping centers, museums, or smaller residential buildings alike, you’ll want the same high standard of craftsmanship, which is why it’s worth visiting a professional in the field. You can visit www.glas-pro.com to learn more about why Glaspro is the current leader in the world of translucent panels and other types of decorative glass products on the market today.
Although back painted glass used to be associated more with industrial work, good for concealing pipes or heating ducts, it has now blossomed into a viable way to color glass for decorative use. With the new, high-quality finishing techniques that are available in the glass coloring process, there are numerous roles that this type of decorative glass can now play. Colored glass can really open up a room or building space, playing with the light and giving a clean, fresh, modern appearance to the space.
Although it used to be strictly industrial, back painted glass is now seen in the construction of commercial and residential spaces alike. Because the finish of this type of glass is colorfast and resistant to fading, it can be used outdoors for a durable finish, as opposed to other types of glass. The back painting techniques is often applied to curved glass or other types of shaped glass for exterior design, as a result. To begin the process, a color is first custom-mixed to the client’s specifications, and then applied to the second surface, or backing, of the glass in a uniform thickness. This step is extremely important for the benefit of the final product, so that there are no spots or scratches visible on the glass.
The color of the back painted glass, once it has been applied, must then be protected with another paint layer, so that it will be resistant to scratching and better able to withstand any outside elements. With the latest technology available, a clean smooth finish is now possible in this dual coating process. You can rest assured that by using a professional back painting glass company, you will have results that are strong, durable, and with accurate colors according to the specifications of your project. It can be a good idea to look at the possible samples before making any final decisions.
With a new color line and the use of the most modern technological advances, Glaspro has opened up the doors of what is possible with back painted glass in terms of design. Some of the many color possibilities of the best back painted glass designs are available for viewing at www.glas-pro.com, which also explains the technique used and gives you some idea of how this design could enhance your next building project.
Although many have said over the years that time is money, it turns out that space is money too, according to any architect or interior designer. Working in limited spaces can lead to certain limitations in the types of materials that you can use, or may lead to you rethinking the budget that you have and scaling back a project. However, a good way around this is to use materials like magnetic glass that serve multiple purposes, beyond merely serving a decorative glass need.
As far as magnetic glass goes, the reason why it can be so useful in design and architecture is that it serves more than one purpose at the same time. Not only can it stand in the way regular glass does, but you can also stick objects to it due to the magnetism. This gives it the function of a standard dry-erase board, but it also has the appeal of a bulletin board. For conference rooms, offices, and classrooms, this is a clever way to open up the possibilities of how we use surfaces. Even in a residential setting, this could make the family more organized while at the same time giving the kids something fun to play with.
Other types of glass that are frequently utilized include translucent glass panels, because they allow designers to manipulate lighting without having to step in with separate shades or lighting fixtures. Magnetic glass works in the same way, in that there are so many different possibilities attached to it. In terms of pure aesthetic possibility, designers find it exciting to work with because it can be colored, textured, or enhanced with other decorative items, while at the same time having that core of magnetic strength.
Many businesses choose to have their magnetic glass produced in white, so that it can double as a projection screen. This way, designers can utilize the sleek and subtle appeal of glass, but then infuse it with a core strength and multiplicity of purpose that goes far beyond other glass materials. The only limitation is in the imagination of the designer. If you want to learn more about just how convenient and versatile magnetic glass can be, you can turn to www.glas-pro.com to start the creative juices flowing. These experts are the industry leader in the glass design world, and can help you make any of your designs become a new reality.

New innovations in decorative glass have given design professionals the ability to make unique spaces that are able to stand out as fresh, even in a saturated marketplace. Translucent glass or colored options can be used as accents, while curved glass can up the ante on modern design.
There are a number of benefits to using decorative glass as opposed to other materials, when you are looking at ways to give a fresh and modern look to your building. Glass lets in the light from outdoors, which can make a building seem loftier than it really is. There is also no limitation to the type of manipulation that you can perform with glass, which can be bent, curved, styled, and colored in any way that your mind perceives. Adding in etchings or texture is another way that glass has been used as an element of design over the years.
These are just a few ways that glass can be used as an important fundamental material of architecture. Browsing through architectural works of the past can give you some more ideas of where you want to take your designs in the future, using the latest innovations and techniques that modern technology has allowed. With these innovations, it costs far less than ever before to make a real difference in glass design. To learn more about what Glaspro decorative glass can do for your next building project, you can go to www.glas-pro.com to take a look at the various possibilities.
Nothing screams modern elegance like curved glass, which is a way to make storefronts or high end buildings look more modern, almost instantly. Architectural glass design involves a great deal of conceptual work, and then a specialized heating and bending process to produce the final bent glass product. This can lead to some of the most innovative decorative glass designs in the world, and when you think about what the future of glass looks like, this is often it. Because such a high level of craftsmanship is needed to produce results that are as strong as they look, it’s vital to choose a fabricator that is up for the job.
Because Glaspro has built its reputation on setting and meeting challenges in curved glass production, you can rest assured that you will receive the highest attention to detail here. Along with new materials such as rice paper glass, there are techniques that can be used to carefully curve and mold large sheets of window glass to meet any modern design that you have come up with. Some of the world’s top architects use the services here. Because of its striking design, this type of glass is usually used for buildings that need to make a statement.
Some areas where you might see curved glass used in the architecture and design include modern exhibition halls, museums, airports, and shopping arcades, for example. These could be utilized in either the interior or exterior of the building, for maximum visual impact. Studies have shown that curves in the glass help give a building a more modern and comforting feel, particularly when associated with futuristic endeavors, which perhaps explains the popularity in airport design. However, you could use this in regular storefronts as well.
Curved glass can also accentuate revolving doors, facades and window displays, and skywalks in between buildings. The type of glass used will depend on the application, so this is something to discuss with your glass design expert before putting into place. There is a wide variety of different types of tempered and colored glass that could be used in the design, and some may even choose a combination of different glass types for an edgier look. It’s also always vital in any glass application to make sure that you adhere to building codes upon installation, which is why the work of a curved glass professional is vital in this field.
