Great Glazing: LAX Petrossian Caviar and Champagne Bar
COMMERCIAL, FABRICATION: SNAPSHOTS: GREAT GLAZING, DECORATIVE GLASS
The basics: Decorative glass played a key role in the design of the Petrossian Caviar and Champagne Bar at the newly renovated Los Angeles International Airport Tom Bradley International Terminal. Meant to echo the high-end nature of the delicacies offered at the restaurant and bar, the “graphic glass panels form into sumptuous, undulating silhouettes that invite patrons to linger and indulge,” says Marc Bennett, director of advertising for GlasPro.
The players: Design, glass installation, JBI Interiors; glass fabricator, GlasPro.
The glass: The bar features high-resolution graphic glass panels, bent and triple laminated. “The pieces were meticulously fabricated to meet stringent tolerances while carrying forth the designer’s concept,” Bennett says. The glass is also featured in the dining area, where booths are enclosed with free-form, interlocking glass fins, fitted together to form dividers.
