Crystal CathedralThe International Center for Possibility Thinking is a $40 million, 58,000 sq. ft. four-story building addition to the Crystal Cathedral campus which provides reception facilities for visitors, including an auditorium, gallery, library, retail space and café. The partially concentric, four-story center, designed by architect Richard Meier, provides a gathering place for the congregation in an atmosphere of ease and sociability. When the eight large sliding-glass doors are pushed aside, the first floor reception area is open to the elements. As part of a fund raising drive for the new center, GlasPro created approximately 23,000 glass bricks, each with a donors name etched onto it's face, which were assembled into a 35' x 35' wall. The exterior of the building was created using high performancebent laminated glass, installed by Walter’s and Wolf. |
