Designed by Perkins & Will Architects, James Madison University’s new 38,000 square foot social and dining hall design strengthens social connections by reinforcing student pathways that extend across the campus and through the building. The multi-level building is both visual and accessible featuring a central stairway between two levels. In collaboration with American Door & Glass, GlasPro fabricated sixty-one, ¼” low-iron tempered custom “JMU Purple” fins, ranging from 28’ to 17’ in height, placed above the long stairway. The purple decorative glass reinforces university pride while added a distinctive design element.
